Khaleel A. Munir

Mr. Khaleel A. Munir is a proud husband, father and happily married to Courtney Munir for 5-years. They share one beautiful daughter Janika and a precious granddaughter Myrical Samone. Khaleel is one of 12 siblings, 6 boys and 6 girls. Khaleel spent 8years in the corporate America before transitioning to the field of education where he spent 7 years in the classroom. After leaving the classroom he continued to serve St. Louis’s students in the role of a Youth Leader Specialist with the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court’s Detention center where he impacted lives for 3 years before accepting an off from the City of St. Louis Parks and Recreation department. Khaleel is currently the Program manager I for the recreation division which includes managing Tandy Community Center, Wohl, Buder, 12th &, Park, Marquette, Gamble, and Cherokee center. Khaleel’s proudest moment was starting the Willie Davis Sports Foundation an organization he started in 2017 in his dad’s name who passed away on September 16, 2004. Khaleel and the foundation pride themselves on helping the most needed through DIRECT IMPACT to those in need. Khaleel has more than 20 + years of experience in the classroom, on the court and in the community combined. Khaleel is a Wolverine at heart, having graduated from Vashon High School. In the mid-Nineties acting as the Director of Tandy Community center, Khaleel is allowed to unfold his passion for mentoring young people while maintaining his passion for improving the community. He not only brings his skill and experience of being a community organizer but he brings his ability broker resources to the table for the benefit of the less fortunate. Khaleel is the founder of the Willie Davis Foundation an organization dedicated to the success of our youth. Khaleel is currently married to his wife of almost 5 years and business partner. Khaleel and his wife operates their own package delivery service. Said from these things Khaleel volunteers at Barnes Hospital as a chaplain in the trauma unit also he volunteers at the Juvenile Detention Center twice a month. Khaleel enjoys 7mile walks, the steam room, and being with family asset to the coaching staff. His style of engaging promotes self confidence and good character simultaneously promoting social growth and self-respect. His approach begins with mutual respect for academics and a solid cultural balance. Khaleel starts where the youth are to assist them in becoming star performers as students and citizens of their community. Khaleel values structure. His goal is to instill in the value for education and a love for self and community.
